    There’s a common misconception that if you paid to have your brand created or are the legal owner of your brand, that it belongs to you alone. Such ideology couldn’t be farther from the truth. In today’s customer-centric business model, not even the CEO is the primary voice. Instead, they are the biggest adversary to their brand.

    Did you know that when it comes to your brand, you have the least amount of ownership? It’s those who come into contact with your brand beyond your four walls that are the most influential influencers. So the real question is: How do you get the people responsible for propelling your brand to move your brand forward?

    Learn how to let go, give up control, and don’t look back — he who gives up control gains all. Timing is everything and learning when to walk away from your brand is the critical marker between the brands that command respect and the brands that fizzle.     Mihali Stavlas, a Greecian born descendant of Alexander the Great and expert plate breaker, is the founder and CEO of Mell?naid, an analytical and creative, award-winning agency in Raleigh, North Carolina. When he's not finding the Greek root of any word, he loves helping clients maximize marketing results, while capturing and recreating their brand’s story.

    In addition to overseeing Mell?naid, Mihali also serves as President-Elect of the AMA's National Professional Chapter Council. He has previously led the award-winning AMA Triangle Chapter as President, is an advisor to North Carolina Center for Nonprofits and has been an advisor to AIGA Raleigh. Mihali has hosted a radio talk show out of California called "This Week in Marketing" and is a national speaker on the topics of brand advocacy, leadership, and marketing.

    Mihali also co-founded EPIC in Business, a leadership development organization and the annual conference for entrepreneurs. He has been recognized by the marketing community as the AMA Triangle "Volunteer of the Year" and is a recipient of Triangle Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Award.  


    When not at work, Mihali can be found jumping out of planes, flying a Boeing-Stearman Model 75 or partnering with local organizations to help bring transformation in North Carolina. Mihali is married to his best friend, Laura, and they have two children, and one cat; but Mihali aspires to have a pet goat under the stipulation that it does not come within 1,000 feet of a dinner plate.
