    Online Master Class: Create Your Culture of Excellence and Dominate Your Marketplace

    Companies that have attained “Excellence” are more profitable, grow faster, build a loyal following among their customers, have far lower staff turnover, and enjoy lower levels of crisis.

    Attendees of this four-hour master class event will take away a process to evaluate their company’s level of excellence, action plans to improve their levels of excellence, and methods of creating a more profitable, more sustainable, and more enjoyable business.

    What’s “Culture”?  “Why Culture”?

    It’s a funny word with a multitude of diverse meanings from the arts to corporate or institutional meanings to biology.  

    • The Arts – we get culture by going to a museum, seeing a play, reading a book listening to a symphony
    • Business or Institution – a culture permeates everything they do… “it’s the way we do things here.”
    • Biology – the nutrient solution to grow bacteria for study.


    For purposes of this event, everything a business does is part of their culture. If the culture is purposeful and nurtured it becomes “the way we do stuff” and eventually everyone – staff, customers, vendors, stakeholders understand it and reacts to it.

    Imagine a manufacturing plant:

    • If the culture is “Excellence” production is orderly, methodical, high-quality, timely.
    • If the culture is “Mediocre” production is sloppy, chaotic, mediocre quality, often late.


    If the goal is to create understanding that “The way we do things around here” is “Excellence” then there is a much higher probability that the company will be more profitable, more sustainable, and more enjoyable to all concerned – customers, staff, vendors, stakeholders, etc.  Just as the biologist feeds and nurtures the bacteria in the petri dish, the manufacturer must nourish the culture in the plant to become excellent.  

    That’s the What and Why of the Culture of Excellence!

    Standards are where Excellence Matures

    Once standards are created, you’re not finished; in fact, you’ve just started!

    Those standards have to be emphasized, have to become top-of-mind and, when they are, great things can happen because maintaining and exceeding those standards becomes “the way we do things around here."

    It doesn’t happen overnight, it takes time and effort but, once the culture takes hold, everything becomes so much better… and easier.

    About the speaker:

    Larry Galler works with owners and executives of small and mid-size businesses, non-profits, and institutions to transform them from “what it is today” into “what they want it to become tomorrow” by creating breakthroughs in management and marketing.

    For sixteen years, Larry was owner of a chain of six retail stores in regional malls in Indiana and Illinois, then owner of a company that manufactured and sold items of his own design to many of the largest retailers in the country including Walgreens, K-Mart, Sears, J.C. Penney, Target, and many other mass merchants.

    For over 20 years, he has specialized in advising executives, professionals, and businesses to extraordinary achievement with an extensive list of clients throughout the United States and Canada

    Larry has written over 750 weekly columns that have been published in the Northwest Indiana Times every Sunday between 2001 and 2017 and is frequently published in many business publications.

    He is an active member of and guest lecturer to a number of business related organizations (Chambers of Commerce, Trade Associations, etc.), a Member of the Board of Governors of The Society of Innovators the Citizens Advisory Board of Lakeshore Public Media (TV and Radio), and hosts a weekly show where he interviews people in the business community on WVLP Radio in Valparaiso.
